About Us

The Seattle Latino Film Festival (SLFF)  was founded in 2009 by Jorge Enrique Gonzalez Pacheco, a Cuban-American international award-winning poet, film industry professional, and cultural entrepreneur. The Seattle Latino Film Festival (SLFF) is a competitive film industry festival and the only forum in the Pacific Northwest dedicated to genuine Latin American cinema. SLFF is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that celebrates and showcases films focusing on Latin American & Romance Language cultures, themes, and narratives. The festival aims to promote cultural diversity and foster understanding through the powerful medium of film. It features a variety of genres, including documentaries, feature films, and shorts, and often includes Q&A sessions with filmmakers, panel discussions, and other related events to engage the community and provide a platform for Spanish, Portuguese, and Indigenous voices in cinema.

SLFF has established partnerships with organizations such as the City of Seattle Office of Arts and Culture, ArtsFund, 4Culture, Washington State Arts Commission, Seattle University, University of Washington, the Northwest Film Forum, Heritage Bank, Fox13, King 5 News, BECUDelta Air Lines & Aeromexico, Microsoft, Seattle Art Museum, Huelva Iberoamerican Film Festival in Spain, Acción Cultural Española (AC/E) in Spain, Berlinale in Germany, Cinélatino Rencontres de Toulouse in France, Mexican Consulate in Seattle, WA, Honorary Consul of Spain in the Pacific Northwest, Instituto Cervantes of Spain, among others. Our Film Festival attracts a politically-aware and diverse demographic. Since our first festival in 2009, we have attracted over 1,000 attendees each year.
