Synopsis: Nicaragua, today. 11-year-old Maria lives with her mother Lilibeth at the edge of a garbage dump. Their future depends on selling a litter of purebred puppies to a local thug. When the deal falls through, Lilibeth must go to the city and drop Maria off at a recycling center where she must stay and work. But days pass and she doesn't return. Maria feels lost, bewildered and angry. One night, Maria meets Tadeo, an imaginative new friend who is determined to help her to reunite with. 

Sinopsis: Una niña de 11 años y su madre son separadas mientras intentan ganarse la vida en el vertedero más grande de Nicaragua.Nicaragua, hoy. María, de 11 años, vive con su madre Lilibeth al borde de un basurero. Su futuro depende de vender una camada de cachorros de pura raza a un matón local. Cuando el trato fracasa, Lilibeth debe ir a la ciudad y dejar a María en un centro de reciclaje donde deberá quedarse y trabajar. Pero pasan los días y ella no regresa. María se siente perdida, desconcertada y enojada. Una noche, María conoce a Tadeo, un nuevo amigo imaginativo que está decidido a ayudarla a reunirse con su madre.
